K and K is the first letter of two colleges, which have earned their distinct names in two different educational sectors. KCBMHS (Kantipur College of Business, Management and Humanities Studies) was established in 1998 by renowned academicians with a mission to create quality Nepalese working professionals in the field of management. Knowledge and Wisdom Academy was established in 2001 by some renowned academicians to cater for the growing demand of parents and students in the higher secondary level by providing demand of parents and students in the higher secondary level by providing quality education and guaranteeing top class graduates. Its mission is to promote education and research to foster excellence in higher secondary level programs, to recruit the best teachers and to enhance the quality of the students experience.

Nestled at the heart of Kathmandu, it is located at New Baneshwor in front of International Convention Centre. The college is accessible from Patan, Bhaktapur and from all the major parts of Kathmandu city. BA

The BA is a three years Bachelor Degree program in arts. Students study 14 papers during this year program with each paper carrying 100 marks. Students study 4 papers in the first year and 5 papers each in their second and third year. Apart from compulsory subjects i.e. English and Nepali, students can choose two majors from a wide range of subjects offered by the university.

The college offers the following majors. Students can choose only one major from a group.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The candidate applying for admission to the BA program must have successfully completed PCL or HSEB 10+2 in business/commerce/science or nay equivalent course form any board or university.

BBA-TU

The BBA is a four year bachelor degree program in management. The BBA program is divided into 8 semester covering 120 credit hours. Students get to choose their specialization in the seventh and eighth semester. Specializations are offered in Management Information System, Travel and Tourism Management, Banking and Finance, Industrial Management and Marketing Management.

The BBA program is specially designed to help students to take up middle level managerial positions right after their graduation. For this reason, the students are required to do various project works, assignments and presentations throughout the course and an internship in their 8th semester.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSIONS

The candidates applying for admission in the BBA program must have successfully completed a twelve-year schooling or its equivalent from any university or institution recognized by Tribhuvan University. He/she must have studied mathematics or economics as a full paper at the 10+2 or equivalent level.

Secured at least second division in the 10+2, PCL or equivalent program.

CLASS HOURS

The classes fro BBA will run from 11:00am to 4:390pm, Sunday to Friday.

BBS

The BBS is a four-year Bachelor Degree program in business.

Minimum General Requirements

The minimum general requirements for the 4-years BBS programme are as follows:

-An academic year will consist of a minimum of 150 teaching days excluding the days taken for admission and annual examinations.

-The total instructional hours in an academic year will be 615 (150 days x 4:10 hours a day). For courses requiring field and practical works, additional hours of study will be required.

-There will be a minimum of five periods (i.e. class hours) each teaching day. The campuses running morning or evening shifts will also be required to meet this minimum class requirement.

 

Attendance, Evaluation and Grading System

-The student must have a minimum of 70 percent attendance of the classes actually held.

-No student will be allowed to appear in the second year final examinations without first appearing in the first year final examinations.

The grading system in the annual examinations is as follows:

-Third Division 35 Percent

-Second Division 45 Percent

-First Division 60 Percent

-Distinction 75 Percent

 

Graduation Requirements

 

The BBS programme extends over three academic years and the BBS degree is awarded on its successful completion. All candidates for BBS degree must fulfill the following requirements:

-The successful completion of 2000 marks as prescribed with passing grades in all the courses.

-The passing scores obtained in all theory and practical components of the course separately.

-Completion of courses for the fulfillment of BBS programme must occur within the time limit as prescribed by Tribhuvan University

  

CLASS HOURS

 

The classes for BBS will run from 6:30am to 11:00am (Morning Shift) and from 11:00am to 4:00am (Day shift), Sunday to Friday.

BSW

Social work course is fundamentally a multidisciplinary course drawing theoretical concepts from different social sciences, keeping social work values and principles at the care. Thus. Social work education focuses on holistic and integrated method of practice rather than reductionist approach.

Social work education is an attempt towards the building up of knowledge base necessary for the practice (through necessary classes) learning and refinement of skills *through concurrent field work) and imbibing necessary ethical value base (through various exposure; supervision and constant reflection process). Therefore, social work education can play a critical role in shaping up the overall outlook of an individual; preparing the self as an agent for social change.

FIELD WORK

Field work is an essential part of social work program. The students are expected to undergo minimum of 10hrs per week practical field work. The students are evaluated on the basis of their attendance, application of professional skills in the field and reflection. The faculty/field work supervisors, both from the institutes and agency. Besides this, this course intends to furnish the students with Report Writing, Individual Conference, Group Conference, Neighborhood Camp, Rural Camp, Urban Camp, Block Placement and so on.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Candidates applying for admission program must have successfully completed the PCL or HSEB 10+2 in business/commerce, Science or any equivalent course from any board or university recognized by Tribhuvan University.

CLASS HOURS

The classes for BSW will run from 6:30 am to 10:30 am (morning shift) and 11:00am to 4:30pm (day shift), Sunday to Friday.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSESSMENTS

The final examination for BSW will be conducted by the office of the Controller of Examination. However to qualify for the final examinations the students will need a minimum of 40% in aggregate in all internal assessments including class works, project works, class tests & term examinations.

HSEB

The higher secondary is an extension of the SLC. The HS course will prepare students for the university level of study. Students in HS will have to make a clear decision while choosing subjects at this level. These subjects should assist them in their further studies and their choices of career eventually. The choice of subjects should interest the students and should not burden them. Students are advised to consult their parents, guardians, friends and teachers while making such decisions.

SUBJECTS OFFERED:

We offer the following courses of MANAGEMENT FACULTY +2 levels with an aim to prepare them to study practical courses at Graduates Level which will help them to settle down in the life easily.

Account+ Economics+ BOOM/Math—will prepare them for practical course like BBA. However, if they want to pursue general course, we also offer them BBS.

Account+ Hotel Management+ Travel and Tourism—will prepare them to get into practical courses like Chartered Accountancy, Bachelor in information Technology and Bachelor in Information Management.

Similarly, we offer the following courses at FACULTY of HUMANITIES +2 levels with an aim to prepare them for some of the practical courses offered at Graduate Level.

Economics+ MAths+ Computer- will prepare them for Bachelor in Information Technology (BIT), Bachelor in Information Management (BIM), Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) and also some general courses in Bachelor in Arts.

Travel and Tourism+ Mass Communication+ Sociology/Major English- will prepare them fro Bachelor in Travel and Tourism.

Mass communication+ Major English+ Sociology- will prepare them for Bachelor in Social work and Rural Development and Major English. At Master level we offer Rural Development.

There are many other practical courses that we are planning to introduce within a year or two. We, the new management team, have developed many more physical facilities to meet the demands of growing numbers of students at our institution.

MA-Gender Studies

MA in Gender Studies is a two year four semester program in Master’s in Arts of Tribhuvan University, Nepal. This program incorporates five different papers in its first and second semester and four papers with one elective paper in its third and fourth semester. Nevertheless, students have to write a Master Thesis of 6 credits at the end of the program. The overall weightage of the program is equivalent to 60 credit hours.

K&K International College is the first private institution to introduce Gender Studies affiliated to TU since 2013. This institution is fully committed to serve as a model Academic Institution to create Gender Equitable Society through producing Gender Aware Human Resources.  There is already a partial introduction of Gender Studies in 10+2 Higher Secondary School Curriculum. In accordance to it, T.U is going to introduce the under graduate level course for Gender Studies very soon and is in the process of syllabus designing.  Moreover, Gender Studies, as a paper is introduced in the Masters Level having various subjects like Patriarchy, Feminism, Politics, Human Rights and Research Methodology.  Therefore, this subject has a potential Job market in Tribhuvan University for Teaching and Research as well as various ministries of government of Nepal like Security Organs of the Government such as, Military, Armed Police and Nepal Police. Likewise, MA in Gender Studies has a high demand in the development organizations like INGOs, NGOs and Multi Governmental Organizations. 

Gender Studies is a growing subject all over due to gender imbalance in the societies, worldwide. Women Empowerment as an idea of social justice is a universal issue for every government in the world. Moreover, this field of study opens an arena to create right based gender just societies all over the world. 

Students with a keen interest to Subaltern Studies are welcome to K&K International College for our social movement of gender just society. As this subject is available at Master Degree level, there is no faculty bar to take part in the study. Students who have finished Bachelor Degree/ Graduate level in any discipline approved by TU are eligible to apply.  

 

MA in Rural Development Studies

Master of Arts in Rural Development Studies (MRDS) 

The MA in Rural Development Studies is a two year four semester Master Degree Program in Arts of Tribhuvan University, Nepal. MA in Rural Development Studies is a multi-dimensional program Even today, most of the world’s population lives in rural areas. But, the problems of rurality vary from country to country. MA in Rural Development Studies is Nepal’s indigenous course developed to address the problems of unique Nepali rurality. There are altogether 20 papers in total, distributed into four semesters along with the 6 credit compulsory thesis at the end of the course. Among the papers, Rural Development, Local Governance, Rural Urban Linkage, Project Management, Natural Resource Management and Rural Development Planning are the major ones.  The MA in Rural Development Studies aims to produce development cadres capable to meet the demand for higher level rural developers in government and non-government sectors.

The candidate applying for admissions to the MA in Rural Development Studies program must have successfully completed the Bachelor Level of study in any discipline or any equivalent course from any board or university recognized by Tribhuvan University.
